A native of Los Angeles, in 1992 Mr. Cope graduated cum laude from the J. Reuben Clark School of Law at Brigham Young University, where he was a member of both the BYU Law Review and BYU Journal of Public Law. He ranked top in his class in Criminal Law, and likewise earned the highest grade rankings in Advanced Legal Research, Advanced Comparative Constitutional Law, Jewish Law, and Law in Film.
